May 9 I had a pretty exhausting day yesterday. My 3 year old doesn’t quite understand that I’m 31 weeks pregnant and that I’m constantly tired. So when he says, “Mommy can I play in the backyard, please, please, please… play Mommy catch you?”, I feel horrible! Unfortunately, it was raining and it looks like a rainy day today too. So I ended up in a tent and then on the floor in his room where I ended up falling asleep as I was held captive.
Still, I’m a night owl and once the craziness of the day is done and I have a nice warm shower, I sometimes fine some energy to print so I jumped in here to show you a couple of the things I worked on last night, which I’m quite excited about.

If you follow me on Instagram you’ve already seen these, but for those who don’t, I wanted to share. I don’t know why these are really striking my fancy, but ever since I designed them I’ve been dying to print them and I have to say, they turned out just perfect!
Well, that’s all for now, going to see if I can start working on the third design of this series and then perhaps design some more. They’re quite fun. What type of sentiments do you find you’re always looking for in a card? I’m open to more ideas as I work on these. Let’s do something fun, leave ideas in the comments section here or on my facebook page and if your sentiment is picked, I’ll send you the card! :)
Post as many ideas as you want, US entries only. I’ll take the first person who posted any idea that is repeated.
May 8 Well hello everyone! Or any of you that are still out there… :)
I’m not sure if this is the longest I’ve been away but it definitely feels like it because I’ve had so many things I’d like to show and tell you about. However, I’ve had some personal problems that really cast a shadow on how I’ve been feeling and so the only thing I want to do is work. It keeps my mind off of things in a way that writing, even a blog post can’t.
Still, I’m deciding to push past all those sad feelings and be happy. There are many things to be excited about, especially this little baby that is on the way who is quite a little ball of joy already. There isn’t a minute in the day when I don’t feel him and I’m really starting to wonder if we’ll have any rest once he arrives. :)
On other happy news, I had the happy honor of hosting my Mother-In-Law’s 60th Birthday party at my home this past weekend and it was fantastic. My husband’s sisters and I pulled together and it was really a lovely little get together. We wanted it to be a very cozy gathering so there were only 10 people and it made for a wonderful party.

One of my husband’s sisters and her husband are a baker and chef, so needless to say, the food was unbelievable! I was in charge of decor and we decided on a sort of tea party idea that ended up turning into a colorful mad hatter type tea party in the end.

Of course, I had to involve some letterpress into the equation. I decided to make my Mother-In-Law a print to commemorate her 60th. I was quite happy with the way it turned out. Since this was a surprise party and it was so small, we decided invitations wouldn’t be necessary, but with Christine’s wonderful food, I thought a menu would be a lovely treat to adorn the table. So I pressed it and decorated with colorful doilies and some baker’s twine. It added a nice pop to the table settings.

Here is the complete set I worked on for this party, including a custom coaster. Nothing fancy, just a colorful, sweet set of stationery to celebrate a wonderful woman.
This was a much needed distraction and has made me want to start sharing again, so I’m planning on a special post about my son’s third birthday party, which was also a couple of weeks ago and I had lots of fun working on as well. Hope to have that up soon too.
Thanks again for sticking around and I hope that I’m able to show you more as my mood has improved and the situation settles itself. Till next time!
April 15 I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since my last post… wait, I can. It’s been a crazy month. I was able to visit my family in Florida and meet up with my grandparents who came up from Costa Rica. I spent a wonderful week there and also a week with my beautiful husband and sons (one still baking)!
It was nice to take some time off and just relax with my family. Sometimes you get caught up in the day to day and you forget. As I get further along in my pregnancy, (I will be 7 months on Thursday!) I find I want, not to mention need to spend more time with my feet up and with my boys around me. It’s also given me a lot of time to think about Honizukle Press and where I’d like things to go now that the new baby is right around the corner. Oddly enough, I’m so psyched about growing and not just my pregnant belly. :) This year has been great for HP and I’m happy with the way things are moving.
I’ve been working a lot, finishing up wedding suites that I can’t wait to photograph and show you and I just finished printing 3 new Mother’s Day designs I’m super excited about. So take a look at these and let me know what you think…

As always, thanks for stopping by!

It’s finally here! I’ve been waiting to tell you about Coddington Lane for a while now.
I posted here about how I had two wonderful sessions with the amazing Jess Lively from With Intention. The idea for Coddington Lane was born from these chats and I ran with it! I couldn’t believe how excited Jess was to see this plan come into action and that just fueled the fire, so here we are!
I designed a letterpress set for men that has been VERY popular not only among women purchasing for their men (or even themselves) but with men in particular. So I took a couple more sets I already had in mind for men and separated them into a shop. Now it’s one special shop tailored for men. This was a particularly fitting endeavor for me as my husband is my target audience. He’s quite the distinguished gentleman and provided invaluable insight into stationery from a male perspective. I have run EVERYTHING by him and he has endorsed it all. I used all sorts of cool pencils from his carefully curated collection to style the photos and he even came up with the tag line : Letterpress for the Discerning Gentleman, which I thought was BRILLIANT!

Today is the very first day for Coddington Lane and I hope it’s a great one! I’m excited to see how it’ll grow. Of course, like any other launch, this one comes complete with a coupon code, so use NEWLINE34 for 10% off your first order and don’t forget to like our new Facebook Page too!
March 4 It was quite an eventful weekend around here. I took a break from work to get some of the studio set up. With the help of my amazing husband, we were able to get some much needed shelves up. By the time he was done, I couldn’t contain my excitement! I immediately started filling them up with all sorts of colorful stuff. Take a look…

I’m still working on organizing the studio. The rest of it is a complete mess! But, looking down from on high are my two little Tweets, they’re supervising and making sure this studio shapes up to be a very happy place where great things are sure to happen!

That’s all for today, there’s a lot to clean up and a lot to work on but once I finish up I’ll be sure to post more photos. What about you? Do you have any inspirational ideas for you studio?

It’s finally Friday! It’s felt like a very long week. There’s been a lot of activity and a lot of work. Luckily, with all the work have come a lot of nice things. This Votre Vu project is one of them. I’ve been wanting to share it with you for a while but wasn’t sure when it would be announced. Seems like I missed it by a bit but it made me quite happy to see either way. This was a very fun project to work on and the gals at Votre Vu were excellent to work with. I absolutely love this ad they made to share the love notes and product too. Very sweet indeed.
Happy Friday everyone!
February 20 Yes, there isn’t much more to say after that title, but I have to say, I am so excited. I was contacted a couple of weeks back about a feature they wanted to do on “Will You” cards. It’s been SO HARD to keep it quiet! So now you know and you can get excited with me. :)
Hope you’re all having a wonderful day too!

I was telling you in yesterday’s post that there are some exciting changes coming to Honizukle Press! One of these is the Color of the Week. It’s a really simple and very fun idea I had while thinking of the things I had to print that day. You see, with letterpress, a lot of the work is in the setup. It takes a very long time to switch colors because you have to clean the entire press just to use another color. That’s not your problem of course, it’s mine but when I get orders that call for 7 different colors, it starts to get a little nutty around here.
One week, everyone was on the same wavelength and all my orders came in for gray. It was a lovely week! I thought, if only I could replicate that. That’s how Color of the Week was born. It’s an incentive to place an order for the color of that particular week. It will make my life a little easier and it will put a little more money in your pocket. It’s a win win.
This is the first week I’m trying it out so I will kick it off today, Wednesday, and have it go through next Sunday. Any personalized or one color notecard sets ordered in this week’s color, AQUA, will receive a 10% discount. All you have to do is place your order through my shop and enter coupon code AQUA and you will receive your 10% discount. Easy peasy.

This is what I was left with last night after a wonderful call I had with Jess from www.jesslively.com. I’m so excited about all that we talked about and implementing a new way of thinking for my business. With the arrival of Baby #2, things are going to change a lot and ever since I found out I was pregnant, my mind keeps going back to this. How can I change the business so that it fits in with the life I want to live?
It was refreshing to speak to Jess and have her understand where I’m coming from and give me ideas on how to move forward with that goal in mind. There are going to be a lot of changes at Honizukle Press soon and I can’t wait to see what they do not only for the company but for my life in general!
There has certainly been a lot of thinking on my end and I really do hope it’s preceding great achievement! What about you? Have you thought about your goals and how you want this year to look for you?
